What do we want? More ads like this one!

This commercial is another one of those videos where words can’t do it justice, so just take 1.11 minutes out of your life and click Play. From the confused expressions on the women’s faces, to the awesome Ozzie accents to the giant smiles that emerge, it is so refreshing to see women’s sexuality being used in advertising creatively.

While I’ll admit the tag lines leave room for some confusion – are they saying that the builders are not themselves when they are hungry and therefore scream out disgusting cat calls and therefore snickers cures that? Or vice versa?

Regardless,  I feel we should just lighten up and give Snickers the benefit of the doubt for trying something new! Considering that over 95% of advertising blatantly objectifies women – this is a great attempt at reversing the trend, so kudos to them.

And all I know now is that whenever I decide to indulge  – Snickers is now up on the list of treats to splurge on. Bravo Snickers, Bravo. You have won my pro-gender equality, misogyny-hating rupees.
